How To Create A 3-Dimensional Image

Before

 After
There are a few different techniques to creating a 3-Dimensional image on Photoshop CS5.  For beginner Photoshop users I will share an easy way to create a fun 3D image.

10 Easy to Follow Steps:
Step 1:  Open the image you wish to use in Photoshop.  (I chose a picture of my sister I had taken in regards for this tutorial.)
Step 2:  Duplicate the layer.
Step 3:  Click on the create new fill or adjustment layer button. (looks like a half black and half white circle.)
Step 4:  Select "Curves" and switch the RGB to "red" and enter the numbers "0"for the output and "251" for the input.
Step 5:  click enter and you will notice that the icon for that layer has turned blue.  Label this layer "blue".
Step 6:  Duplicate the original layer once again and follow step 3 again.
Step 7:  Select "Curves" again but this time switch the RGB to "Green" and enter the same numbers (0 and 251 for the input and output).
Step8:  On the same layer, change the RGB to "Blue" and change the input and output numbers to 0 and 251.  Label this layer "Red".
Step 9:  Click the "Blue" layer and change the blending mode to screen.
Step 10:  Click the move tool (usually top right corner, arrow and triangle image) and use your arrow keys or drag the image left or right.

Play with the image until you are satisfied and enjoy your newly learned technique with creating a 3-Dimensional image!

Good Luck :)

Layering

There are millions of different effects that can be done in Photoshop.  Layering images is one of the more simple effects to master.  This style of layering is possible to done both in digital photography as well as print.  The best images always come from experimenting with the different tools and effects in Photoshop!  Layering is one of my favorite effects to use as I do so often.  This picture is an example of layering with two different photographs.  The photos in this picture are of me and my cousin Haley, both equally interested in the art of photography.

Laila Grace

Photograph from Laila Grace Pinto's Baptism, Sunday February 19, 2012.
Today I had the long overdue pleasure of meeting my cousin Laila.  She was baptized today and I had the pleasure of not only meeting her for the first time, but photographing her baptism.  This is my favorite picture from today, it is Laila and my Aunt Mary (her grandmother) playing with her new doll.

Welcome!

Hi my name is Ashley.  I am currently a junior at WCU majoring in communication studies.  The theme of my blog is photography since it is a strong interest of mine and hopefully something I will use in a future career.  I chose to title my blog "Flash" because it has to do with photography and also happens to be a nickname of mine. Enjoy!
